Hi apattin,
The Bookmarklet is a tool that allows you to index online recipes, but as you mentioned, it does not pull any information other than the title, photo, and URL. That is not actually a bug -- it is that way because indexing on EYB (by both members and paid indexers) is a manual process. The Bookmarklet pulls up an indexing form for you to complete (this is the same indexing form used for all indexing on EYB). Once you've entered the missing data and clicked on save, the recipe is submitted and proofread by an EYB staffer. Once approved, it will then show up on your Bookshelf and in the EYB Library.
You will not find instructions on EYB entries for any recipe since that would violate copyright. For all recipes, you must refer to the original source for the full instructions (URL, book, magazine, etc.) EYB helps find recipes, but it does not replace the originals.
I hope that helps explain things a bit.
