Is it possible to search for a member by profile name? For example if I shared my profile name with someone (who either is or is not yet a member) is there a way for them to find me on the site and locate my profile/notes/library?
If there is I couldn’t work out how to do that so maybe it’s not possible?

You could share the link to your profile with them. Yours is:

https://www.eatyourbooks.../member/foodgloriousfood

Any member's link would be the same, just change the username at the end of the URL.

Thank for your response! I was hoping there might be a way to search for someone without a link. I wasn’t sure if I was missing an easy method that everyone knew about except me :) But maybe I could just do that.

Well, it can be done, just not from EYB

I used google to search for the terms "eatyourbooks.com"  "foodgloriousfood" and "member profile" and up you popped.  This did not work as well using duckduckgo.

My own profile came up without needing to add the "member profile" term, but then it is a more unusual collection of letters.    Hope that helps.

Thank you!

I hadn't tried that before, but unfortunately there is also a book on the site called the same name, which came up before my profile. But it did work!

Any member can view their own Profile by clicking Profile under your username at top right (next to Welcome). Or on a phone, from the Menu at top right. You can also view any other member Profile by clicking their username in the Forum or Blog if they have commented or in the Bookshelves list for any book. If the member profile you want to see is not visible on the Forum, Blog or you don't know what books they own, then just substitute their username for your own in your Profile URL. You don't need to Google the username to find it.

Hi Jane,

I just used mine as a test case, since it does not contain an word.  I had already started to type my reply and was too lazy to open another window  to find an word free username.  It's a test I should have run before I started typing.

stay well,
Zephy
