I want to sort my books by catagory and I wish to be able to change to my own catorization if I don't want to use yours. Is that a nutcase request or even doable now.

In reviewing my book list this dark and stormy Seattle morning, I discovered that most had catagories assigned by EYB (I guess). That I intend to make the basis of my shelving organization but I would like to change some of your catagories to the way I would think of them.

You can't change the categorization of a book in the library, but if you want to be able to sort your shelf by your own categories, I would suggest creating bookmarks for each type of book. More information about bookmarks here (there is a video and step-by-step directions). It does take a bit more time, but another benefit of doing that would be that you can also do searches limited to a particular bookmark -- whether it is "Baking" "Favorites" or "Bookshelf in the Kitchen" -- whatever labels you decide to use to organize your collection.
