A realtor who sold our house many years ago gave me a couple of photocopies out of a cookbook that she had.  I have been searching for years trying to find the name of this cookbook--thought I might ask members of EYB for help.  On page 575 (with the header "Molded Cookies") are the recipes for Moji Pearls, Greek Butter Ball Cookies, Spanish Butter Wafers, and Snowball Meltaways.  Page 559 (with the header "Bar cookies") has recipes for Almond Awards, Dutch Almond cookies, Belgian Christmas cookies, and Aristocrats.  I enjoy making cookies from various countries, and this cookbook seems to offer an assortment of recipes.  I did a search for these recipes on EYB, to no avail.  Anyone know the answer to my cookbook mystery?

I found a reference to a cookbook titled "The Cookie Jar: Cookies from Around the World" from the Culinary Arts Institute. The site I've linked to had a copy for sale and they listed the recipe titles which included all of the ones you mentioned, so it seems a likely candidate! The image is not loading, but I *think* this is the book the site is referring to. The only thing that doesn't add up is the page numbers -- this one is listed as being only 96 pages long. Perhaps there is another, more comprehensive edition, or another more general Culinary Arts Institute cookbook that also included those recipes?  Seems too much of a coincidence to find a match for that many recipe titles and not be a step in the right direction. This may not be the final answer, but I hope it's a start!

Christine, thank you so much!  I did a quick search on Amazon, and they listed a Culinary Arts Institute "encyclopedia" that has over 4400 recipes, and the book is over 700 pages, so I think the zeroxed copies must have come from that book.  However, getting ahold of The Cookie Jar might be more practical!  Thanks for solving the mystery!

You're welcome! If you're thinking about the bigger book, make sure to use Amazon's "look inside" feature to check the index for the recipes. I took a brief look and I don't think they are all there, so you may be better off going for just the cookie book as you said since those are the recipes you are most interested in. Crossing my fingers this is the right one!
