Would you be so kind to recommend me any cookbook(s)?, I would appreciate it very much.

I hope you will get recommendations from members but you can also view the most popular books, i.e. the ones owned by the most members, in the Library. Parwana is the top Afghan cookbook and Summers Under the Tamarind Tree is the most popular Pakistani cookbook (though At Home with Madhur Jaffrey does contain Pakistani recipes).

Thank you very much Jane!, I saw Parwana, but I would like personal advice from members that know about the subject, I bought a book about Afghan cuisine and culture from Shahnaz Zikria, but I wonder if there is/are other books more relevant.

If you follow the link Jane provided and click on 'At Home with Madhur Jaffrey', there are 74 notes on recipes folks have made from the cookbook. All seem to be very positive. I may need to consider this cookbook myself!

Very kind of you too @JimCampbell. I have a pair of books by Madhur Jaffrey and I like her style and recipes very much, I nontheless have asked now too a friend of my sister who happens to be an Afghan journalist, lets see what I get recommended. I want a look from the inside if possible from someone who has lived or is from there, I mean, if there are any books similar in style to a "Silver Spoon", "1080 Recetas de Cocina", or if there is an Afghan Julia Child or Jacques Pepin.

Andaza is a fairly new Pakistani cookbook that I'm enjoying at the moment.

Thank you so much!, it looks like a very interesting book this one and from the same author that Jane wrote (Summers Under the Tamarind Tree). I think I will buy it.

Parwana sounds interesting so I'm requesting it from the library for a trial run.  I own Afghan Food & Cookery which has not been indexed.  It does have some interesting recipes which are not in Parwana.  You might want to consider it as well.

I have Parwana and have cooked extensively from it. It's a really good cookbook, accessible without losing distinctive cultural flavors.
