I've got a recipe that calls for cooking some vegetables over "moderate heat". Is that the same as medium heat?

My understanding is that cooking over moderate heat would result in a simmer, so yes, I think low to medium setting would be good.  A moderate oven is 325 to 400 F, with 325 to 350 being low moderate and 375 to 400 being high moderate.
