I've been wanting to read Cal Peternell's Twelve Recipes for a long while, and it's on my wishlish shortlist.  Went to check used & Kindle prices on that list and found that it's now $1.99!  Have already saved three technique notes in just a quick skim-through.

My name's Hannah and I have a cookbook problem. I just bought Persiana, Sirocco and Annabel Karmel 's Busy Mum' s cookbook for £1.99 each on UK kindle store. I'm sorry/you're welcome. I'm now going back to see if I can spot anything else!

Also Mary Berry's complete cookery course and the Ella's Kitchen purple book (which I highly recommend for new Mums!).

Ready for Dessert: My Best Recipes - David Lebovitz

"It’s a collection of my all-time favorite baking recipes, from a spicy, moist Fresh Ginger Cake, just in time for the holidays, to the best Chocolate Chip Cookies."

$1.99 available in the U.S. and Canada, but possibly not internationally.

David is a great writer, full of humour and helpful recipe hints.

The Ready for Dessert book also has a good index...entries are linked to the actual recipe. You don't always get that feature on kindle books.

Fermented Vegetables book on kindle for about $2 US and Canada.

I just thought I'd let y'all know about a link I use looking for ebooks on cooking at Amazon.

If you go to look at the Top 100 at amazon, they have two listings PAID or FREE.  www.amazon.com/Best-Sell...zgbs/digital-text/  If you look at the left hand side menu, you'll see Kindle ebooks listed. It does sound redundent but if you click on ebooks, you can then look up Culinary Arts, Cooking, Regional styles, etc.

Some of those free ebooks are actually temporary on the list, as they are hoping for reviews and referrals for the books. I guess that is well known, but I thought I'd add that.

May the forks be with you.

The Love and Lemons by Jeanine Donofrio $1.99 on kindle.

Thanks, Gralan, that's a very useful link.

And so annoying about Sirocco, bought it full price about 3 weeks ago in print because the ebook was so expensive!

There are quite a lot of indexed cookbooks on the Kindle bestseller list (US) Gralan shared for $1.99 or $2.99, but one in particular stood out to me I thought I would share -- Ottolenghi's Plenty is currently only $2.99!

And here's a direct link to the cookbook section of the bestseller list.

Thanks, all!  I checked that Amz list regularly when we first got a Kindle, but haven't lately.  Thrilled to see Gjelina for $2.99; It's a book on my wishlist that's perfect for an inexpensive e-version: suspect it's cheffier than I want for regular cooking but have been yearning to read.

You don't need a Kindle to use Kindle cookbooks. You can download a free Kindle reader for your PC and get a larger view of your cookbooks.
When I want a paper version of a recipe from a Kindle, to use in the kitchen (so I can mark it up), I:

  • Open the recipe in my PC Kindle reader

  • Take a screen shot.
(If you are using a PC, you can use the Snipping Tool, or the Paint application that come installed on Windows.)

  • Then I print  out the screenshot.

You can also get a Kindle reader for your iPad.
That's how I usually use my Kindle recipes in the kitchen. The iPad pages are just the right size.

There are so many great vegan cookbooks available in the Kindle format, and it is a lot easier to store Kindle copies than paper copies!
And Eat Your Books is so usefull for finding recipes! It has really made my cookbook library so much easier to use.
