Some medicinal herbs can be effective when eaten raw, brewed into a tea or powdered and made into capsules. Others, such as ginkgo biloba, bilberry, kava-kava, milk thistle and St. John's Wort are most beneficial if their primary active ingredient is clearly identified and concentrated.
