4.5 stars. I made this gravy for Thanksgiving. It was stupendous. So, so good. I followed the directions pretty closely except for toasting the nutritional yeast and the whole wheat flour in the microwave and not in a pan (a bit at the bottom got damp; I left that out to avoid lumps). We used fresh herbs rather than dried. I wish I’d tried to freeze some; roux-based gravies and sauces just aren’t as good after a day or two in the fridge. In any case this tasted just as good as it did at the restaurant and my husband and I (all the people in our household) loved it. A winner.

This came out more like a chewy praline than pie, but the flavor was fabulous and we devoured it.
