    Made the Hearty Spicy Lentil Soup this week. Was a tasty version of a classic standby with extra kick. This is one of my oldest cookbooks I've had it for at least 25 years and probably made 7-8 recipes, all of which I enjoyed judging by my margin notes. Was nice to pull this one back out and revisit. I've marked several more recipes to try, including a baked rice dish that will use up my leftover New Year's black-eyed peas.
