Most of them have some kind of relationship with Swedish home cooking. But how many people can cook a really good boiled veal with dill, a perfect scallops or peas with pork? Or a good honest meat soup with dumpling all-moge food at star level that beats any Asian-influenced fusion dish.

Throughout the chef's career, the Swedish homemaker has had a prominent place for Stefan Ekengren. Now he has collected around 60 favorites such as cabbage dolmas, fried flounder, beef brisket, pork with onion sauce, meadow food and home-baked cheesecake with lightly whipped cream and jam. The book inspires to invite homesteaders not only on a daily basis. Properly prepared, for example, Lapskojs is at the level of a Nobel banquet. Not to mention salmon pudding! The gas at the bottom on the highway, but still slow cruising on a lonely country road. All at once, both smooth and fine but with pleasure in the taste.

All recipes are specified for both 4 and 10 people and begin with a story and cooking tips for success. For most dishes, there are also suggestions on how to raise them a notch and take them further in a non-traditional way. Toast Pelle Janzon, for example, can be made on thin slices of salmon, before assembling your cabbage pudding you can smoke the cabbage in a smoker to get a mild smoke flavor, serve the salmon pudding with fennel crudité and the scallops with grandma's cooked carrots with butter.
