It covers fishing all over the Pacific Coast. It breaks the coastline up into sections starting in Southern California and finishing in the Pacific Northwest. There are interesting fish stories to lead off each chapter and give you a feel for his methods of pursuing the quarry of said chapter. The end of each chapter has simple and good recipes for what you have caught/collected. So if you live on the Pacific Coast of the United States and want a thorough understanding of the coastal forage available to you, this book is a great start into a new and enjoyable world. You can also check out some California Department of Fish and Game publications. They have one that is free to California residents, and they will ship it to you. It is not as much a fishing/collecting guide as this book, but will give you an idea of what's there.
