Publishers Text

At 18 years old Melanie de Blank married a man 30 years her senior - the fine food merchant Justin de Blank - and has since had three children. Her mother died of cancer when Melanie was still a child, and at 26 Melanie, too, was diagnosed as having non-Hodgkins lymphoma, which she set about fighting. Nine years later, and after extensive medical treatment, the disease is in remission. Melanie's experience has given her an insight into the emotional and physical battle against disease. With practical wisdom she advises on all aspects of cancer - from what to tell your children to how to buy a wig. In addition, as a trained chef, she provides a section of health-giving and tempting recipes to help in the fight back to health.
