This selection of over 300 cholesterol-lowering recipes is designed to give suggestions which will reduce cholesterol because they are low in saturated fat, sugar and salt but high in fibre. There are recipes for every occasion ranging from breakfast to family meals to entertaining, picnics and barbecues. The suggestions include soups and starters, light snacks and brunches, and puddings. Each recipe is accompanied by a computer analysis of its nutritional content so that it can be incorporated into any healthy diet. The book is designed to show the wide variety of choice available for healthy eating, rather than the restrictions. The book is written in association with The Coronary Prevention Group which is a registered charity committed to reducing the high rates of coronary heart disease. It has links with other international Heart Foundations and is working closely with the British government and the UK food industry to produce a more accurate policy on labelling of foods.
