This book is for anyone who would like to learn more about the wild mushroom experience. It could be someone who enjoys eating wild mushrooms when they are out to dinner and would like to learn just what is involved in going out and getting their own. They are, after all, free. The author invites the reader to come along on a three-season foray that will introduce him or her to some of the choicest edible mushrooms of New England. Along the way readers will learn much about preparation and preservation of the prizes found. Throughout, there is an emphasis on safety, including instruction on which mushrooms to avoid. The world of wild mushrooms is huge and likely bewildering to the novice. It is the author's desire to make this vast subject more digestible!
