This marvelous cookbook contains over 150 authentic recipes from the French islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique. Favorites such as Avocado Charlotte, Pumpkin and Coconut Soup, Fish Crêpes Saintoise, and Fish Court Bouillon will beckon everyone to the table. The book would not be complete without its chapter on favorite drinks, featuring the famous Ti Punch. Also included are a helpful glossary on Caribbean food products and a list of sources where specialty foods and ingredients can be purchased.

Stéphanie Ovide was born and raised in Guadeloupe. She is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology and author of Creole (Caribbean) Concise Dictionary (Hippocrene Books, 1996) and Cooking in the French Fashion (Hippocrene Books, 1999). She and her husband reside in Paris, France.
