    Mace and pears are a perfect pairing. This is the second recipe for a pear pie with mace that I have tried from this book and both are fantastic. I did not use a cheddar crust as called for but rather just a butter/shortening crust that I like. My husband declared this pie the pie of the summer for 2018 after enjoying his first few bites.
