    Very good soup for the fall. I made a few substitutions: used chicken broth instead of beef, butternut squash purée instead of pumpkin and lemon juice instead of sherry vinegar.

    A good hardy soup. I added pre-soaked porcini mushrooms and cooked in my Instant Pot 23 minutes and release after 15.

    I've made this soup many times, with and without ham. It's great.

    I've been making this for many years in the fall and winter and we never grow tired of it. I usually follow the recipe, but sometimes make it vegetarian and eliminate the ham and use vegetable broth in place of the beef broth.
