    Made these and did not care for them. Texture was muffin like...perhaps that’s why they are called “coffee cake” scones. The dough was a sticky mess, they were barely sweet enough, and the topping was pasty. Not a repeater.

    An excellent scone recipe. Substituted cream cheese for mascarpone.
