    I’d never eaten Toad in the Hole before, so maybe my expectations were wrong. I assumed this would be light and airy like a Yorkshire pudding. But it was dense and stodgy. Looking at the photo, maybe that’s how it was supposed to turn out? Martha doesn’t screw up recipes, so that must be it. Disappointing.
