Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

    I didn’t have any celery root either so I used only celery. This came out so well, even with all my omissions, that I’m looking forward to trying it again as written!

    A lovely little soup! I made this the Sunday before Thanksgiving when I was trying to clean out my refrigerator in preparation for my big dinner on Thursday. I skipped the cream and used my immersion blender. I also didn’t have fresh herbs but even without them, the flavor was very good.
