Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

    This is the first recipe I’ve tried from this cookbook. Once I started measuring ingredients, I noticed the amount of water was incorrect—it calls for 8 1/3 cups for 950 grams flour, which seemed wildly high. I looked at other focaccia recipes and came up with around 840-850 grams water, and the recipe turned out well with this alteration. I now realize that the ml amount stated in the recipe is correct—800 ml, which would be 800 grams. So now I’m nervous about trying other recipes; is this a one-off mistake? Is the conversion from ml to cups off on every recipe? Or are there random errors sprinkled throughout?
