    This made a really nice stew (prepped one day, reheated for dinner the next). I am sometimes skeptical about a beef stew with no red wine but I used a very flavourful broth (saved & frozen after a beef roast in the slow cooker) and both the balsamic & herbes de provence do a lot work here. I cut it in 1/2 (ie 1 lb of meat) for a sensible amount for the 2 of us and still got 2 good sized dinner bowls plus lunch portions for both. This is certainly worthy of a repeat.
