Soft cut-out sugar cookies from Sally's Baking Addiction by Sally McKenney

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Absolutely delicious - but be warned - I rolled to exactly 1/4 inch thickness and this recipe makes about 18 4 inch cookies (I was doing teddy bear cookies so many their arms and legs took more dough).

My neighbor's daughter likes to come over and help me bake. She wanted to make cut-out cookies to decorate for Christmas. We put on some Christmas music, danced, and sang (badly, on my part, lol) and made these super simple and oh so delicious cookies. I didn't chill the dough, and they still rolled out amazing. We used the 'Easy Icing for Decorating Cookies' (from the same website) and lots and lots of sprinkles to finish the project. The only change I made in the cookie dough was to use vanilla bean paste instead of vanilla extract.

These were delicious sugar cookies. They stayed nice and soft several days after the fact. However, some of my ninja men did lose arms & legs while I was holding them, so be careful with decorating! Keep them on a flat surface and don't try to hold them while decorating.
