Classic basil pesto from 100 Recipes: The Absolute Best Way to Make the True Essentials (page 25) by America's Test Kitchen Editors

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

As usual, there are lots of extra steps here compared to my usual pesto recipes - some I would repeat and some not. I do prefer untoasted pine nuts but I did like the softer, lightly pan roasted garlic and I might repeat the herb bruising step again. I am also fine with the optional addition of the parsley, but honestly - it's still just "classic" basil pesto.
