Can substitute damson plums for mirablle plums.

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

This recipe is in French but is straightforward to translate with the help of this explanation of some of the ingredients. Clafoutis is a baked custard with fruit, usually cherries. I've tried various recipes and many of them produce a very dense result. This one is light and didn't sink! Substitute sour cream for the crème fraiche and if you can't find mirabelles (small very sweet golden plums which are very common towards the end of August in NE France, where I live) ordinary plums, stoned and quartered, would be fine.
