Canadian Prairie flapper pie from Flapper Pie and a Blue Prairie Sky: A Modern Baker's Guide to Old-Fashioned Desserts (page 21) by Karlynn Johnston

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

I had never heard of flapper pie until I came across this recipe even though I've been through the Prairies at least a dozen times. No matter -this is a great pie! Very simple to put together with ingredients you probably have in your kitchen. The pie is so light and creamy??Vanilla-tasting that you'll be tempted to have a second piece, which ok unless you are watching your girth! I kept the assembled pie very cold and did not have any challenges cutting clean portions for serving. We will incorporate this into our Christmas Eve menu in the years to come!
