Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

    This recipe is a doozy. First try I overcooked the syrup and it became a hard, sticky mess that I had to dissolve off of a bowl, pot, and several utensils. Syrup worked better on the second try but the hand mixer just turned it into a goo mobius that wouldn't stay in the bowl to get whipped for 10 minutes. Things improved when I added the milk. Ultimately it did work out and it IS delicious but this is not a beginner friendly recipe.
