Walnut and date and sunflower seed bars from The Art of the Pantry: Save Time and Money with 150 Delicious Meals Using Everyday Ingredients (page 299) by Claire Thomson

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Can substitute dried figs for dates, sunflower oil for coconut oil, and quatre-épices for ground cinnamon.

These bars just never set up right for me. They crumbled into pieces after being cut (even after I tried refrigerating them first) and were just an odd texture (oats were too dry, but the bars themselves were wet). I could tell they were softer and tried baking longer to no avail, too. Not sure they're worth tyring again. Although they worked, sort of, as a topping for yogurt.
