Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

    I normally make an "old" Taste of Home version of scalloped potatoes (butter & flour roux then slowly mixed with milk to avoid lumps etc). I decided to try this as an alternative (simmering potatoes in a mix of 35% / 5% cream). The recipe header says "a saucy " dish and it was.....the cheesey mixture was still quite thin when we pulled it out of the oven. The potatoes were beautifully cooked (always a key with scalloped potatoes) but I'm not sure this version will make another appearance.
