Ginger-molasses buckwheat bars from Healthyish: A Cookbook with Seriously Satisfying, Truly Simple, Good-for-You (But Not Too Good-for-You) Recipes for Real Life (page 214) by Lindsay Maitland Hunt

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

This is one odd recipe. First there is just far too much butter. Then maybe because there is so much butter the molasses and ginger flavors are buried. Then the little bit of buckwheat and whole wheat flour is hidden behind the molasses. And why three egg yolks? Just unnecessary waste. Finally, for being bars, this is baked in a round and cut in pie slices which is non traditional but certainly could be overcome. Overall I have no reason to make this one again.
