    Can substitute shrimp sauce for shrimp paste, and fish tofu for fish cake.

    Substituted snow peas for the garlic chives and the bean sprouts. Increased the amount of Chinese sausages and shrimp to account for the fish cakes that I did not have. Used fresh noodles that had been in the fridge for some time. Stir-fried the peas first, then cooked the rest per the direction of the recipe, came together in no time but we found it to be a tad too salty for our taste.
