Can substitute cos lettuce or cabbage for iceberg lettuce; soy sauce for tamari; toasted black sesame seeds for toasted sesame seeds; and vegetarian oyster sauce, kecap manis, or soy sauce for hoisin sauce. See recipe for a vegan variation.

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Simple, tasty dish, great for a hot summer evening. I did the rice in the rice cooker.
