    These were great--very high effort to reward ratio. The braising liquid is so flavorful that I didn't miss the flavor that browning the ribs would have added. Used jicama instead of turnip in the slaw because that's what I had on hand, and we liked the mild crunch it added. Also skipped the onion. Will definitely repeat--though between the bones and the fattiness of short ribs 3 pounds of ribs doesn't make a ton of shredded meat. Might try brisket next time.
