    Can substitute vegetable broth for chicken broth.

    The soup was very bland, didn't even taste much of cauliflower. However, the topping was a winner. I used almonds rather than hazelnuts, and plan to use the idea on other cream soups (tomato, for instance). We ended up putting most of the soup on the compost pile, but scraped all the topping out of the pan.
