    This has potential but definitely needs reworking a bit. First issue, I realized but ignored my gut instinct to follow recipe, is the baking time. Recipe calls for 20 minutes. Every other augratin/scallop recipe I have is about 40 minutes. Even though I used a mandoline so the slices of potato were thin, they were not done in 20 minutes. I even gave it an extra 8 minutes and it still could have done with more time. I think 40 would have been right. Second issue, I don't really think the sausage worked as well as ham would have here. I would have used ham and also added peas to have a veg in this make it a one dish dinner. With all this cheese, this is an expensive dish to not have come out right, I don't think this is worth it to fool around with when I have other similar recipes that work right.
