Cashew chicken from Everyday Food - Great Food Fast (page 40) by Martha Stewart Living

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

I also added an extra T of rice vinegar plus 2 T of soy sauce. I omitted the salt and pepper on the chicken by mistake and it needed some salt. I also beefed up the vegetables, adding 1 red pepper, 1 small zucchini, 4 ounces of snap peas and 2 stalks of celery. Was vey good, but not quite the one I remember from an old Chinese restaurant we loved that is no longer there.

I make this regularly, and we love it. I accidentally added a little more vinegar, and it was better than ever.

Like others have commented, this needs vegetables to make it a complete meal. I added sliced red pepper and diced zucchini and doubled the sauce and it was decent.

Meh. This dish has no flavor. I added a red pepper and subbed a leek for scallions. Hoisin sauce and rice vinegar are not enough to add flavor to all the chicken. We added some spicy Szechuan sauce we keep on hand and it dramatically improved the dish. I wouldn't make this again.
