Easiest chicken teriyaki from The New York Times Cooking: No-Recipe Recipes (page 168) by Sam Sifton

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

  • Eat Your Books

Can substitute turkey cutlets or firm tofu for boneless skinless chicken thighs. See recipe for a variation.

The chicken is simple enough for a weeknight meal, but not very exciting or tasty. I suspect this recipe might work best with a lighter soy sauce (the one I used was a bit too fermented/salty for the sauce).
