Hibiscus-habanero syrup from Mezcal and Tequila Cocktails: Mixed Drinks for the Golden Age of Agave (page 146) by Robert Simonson

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

I made this as a tincture instead of a syrup just to have the preserving power. I used 10oz Everclear, seeded the habaneros, and used 30 grams, 1/2t vanilla, 5 orange zest stripes, g of dried hibiscus, and no sugar. Great taste but none of the burning power, and I don't know if this is good or bad...maybe next time I won't seed all the habaneros. I didn't mix the Tincture in with the cocktail but floated it on the top and it was a beauty.
