Can substitute vermouth for dry white wine.

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Hit the spot on a cool, grey, drizzly late summer day. Quick, easy and tasty with a sharp green salad on the side. I forgot to add salt to the shallots and found I did need to add a tiny sprinkle before eating. Easy recipe to halve, quarter or multiply (I made a third of the sauce for one portion, and it was perfect baked for 15 minutes).
