Chickpea, chorizo, and spinach soup from Christopher Kimball's Milk Street Magazine, Jan/Feb 2022 (page 6)

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

I used red potatoes instead of the other types, so the soup was thinner than intended from the less-starchy potatoes. I also used a full 10 oz Portuguese sausage instead of the 4 oz. It didn't overpower the dish. We added some hot sauce according to our own preferences. However, the dish was surprisingly well-seasoned considering how little seasonings or ingredients are in the soup. Even the kids liked this one. Again, I'm very impressed with my Milk Street recipes.

I made this with what I had: soyrizo and two turkey sausages (loved the soyrizo, meh on the sausages), great northern beans in place of chickpeas, red onion in place of yellow. This was surprisingly delicious for something so easy and simple. Definitely goes in the repeat folder.
