Spiced leg of lamb (Sikandari raan) from Ammu: Indian Home Cooking to Nourish Your Soul (page 182) by Asma Khan

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

  • Eat Your Books

Can substitute shoulder of lamb, leg of mutton, or leg of lamb for leg of spring lamb; and lime juice for amchur.

Used boneless lamb leg (600g or so) as it was what I had. It tasted good and was flavourful. Unusually I might actually tone down the amount of the spice mix as it was almost overwhelming. It was in the oven at 160 fan for about 2hrs 15 and it was perfect
