Blondies with a Marmite glaze from Breadsong: How Baking Changed Our Lives (page 285) by Kitty Tait and Al Tait

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

  • Eat Your Books

Can substitute nuts of your choice for pecans, and other yeast extract for Marmite.

The marmite glaze is a nice touch and since there’s no salt in the batter it helps stop them from being too sweet. There didn’t seem to be much batter for the tin size and my blondies didn’t really rise at all which has made them a bit dense. Not sure what went slightly wrong here… We’ll still eat them all though so no harm done!
