    Can substitute pork mince for half of the beef mince, water or beef stock for dry red wine, tomato passata for canned crushed tomatoes, and oregano for thyme.

    Absolutely delicious! Made a double batch for a family gathering. Had to substitute soy sauce for the Worcestershire sauce, and oregano for the bay leaves. Definitely make this with enough time to do the 2 hour simmer, it was worlds better after cooking for several hours.
