    Can substitute hoisin sauce for oyster sauce; vegetables of your choice for Chinese broccoli; mirin, dry sherry, or chicken stock powder for Chinese cooking wine; and black pepper for white pepper.

    Quite good. I added five rehydrated shiitake mushrooms and a pair of Chinese sausages. Unlike the traditional Chinese claypot chicken rice which is void of vegetables. This one includes onions in the rice with gai lan cooked in, making it truly a one pot balanced meal.

    Another RT winner! I added some Chinese sausage and next time I might add some dried shiitakes. As Nagi says, some chilli doesn’t go astray.
