Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

    I bought a pound of sweet peppers, and there were about twenty in the bag. If I were to follow this recipe, I would cook 10 onions. Clearly, and Adler would agree, that instead you should let your heart tell you how much onion to use.
