Rye Christmas pudding cookies from BBC Good Food Magazine Home Cooking Series Homemade Christmas (page 26)

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

I baked half my frozen doughballs. They have turned out nice, "soft & buttery" as the recipe says, definitely on the "cakey" rather than the crunchy side of cookies, which some family members prefer. I would never buy Xmas Pudding to make these cookies, but I would happily make them again next time I have leftover Xmas Pudding.

After spending a week hoping that someone would eat it from the fridge as a snack, I have made the leftover Christmas Pudding into cookie dough. I'll freeze these doughballs & hope that some day someone will be in the mood to eat some sugar & fat again, once the memories & the effects of festive over-indulgence have faded.
