Big chocolate tart from The New York Times Cooking by Genevieve Ko

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

This was a great dessert for a party or large dinner. It's really not difficult to do and looks very pretty. And cutting the tart into different sized pieces allows those with differing appetites to get what they want. Though the people I served it too wanted to try all the different toppings - mine were candied orange, chopped pistachios, crushed candy canes and freeze-dried raspberry powder (the most popular). One warning - my chocolate custard had a lot of air bubbles so mix it slowly and carefully before baking to get a smoother top (though with the garnishes it didn't matter too much).
