Deconstructed skillet stuffed cabbage rolls from Closet Cooking by Kevin Lynch

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

A 3.0 out of 5. This is a one skillet meal, and a good way to use up a half cabbage. It's basically beef, rice, and cabbage. A fairly common combination for skillet dishes. This particular recipe is surprisingly tasty. The tomato paste, balsamic vinegar, and Worcestershire, add depth. We sprinkled the cheese on top and put the lid back on to allow it to melt. It's one of those dishes that people keep reaching for small spoonfuls as they sit at the table. Next thing you know it's almost gone. We'd certainly make it again. Earth-shattering? no. Tasty weeknight one-skillet meal. yes.

This was surprisingly tasty. I doubled the amount of balsamic vinegar and added all the optional ingredients plus a handful of golden raisins. Also added chopped bell pepper with the ground beef and onions. Melted cheddar cheese on top at the end of the cooking time.
