    Can substitute nuts of your choice or chocolate chips for blanched hazelnuts, and jam of your choice for apricot preserves.

    I'm used to adding vanilla extract to just about everything so I was worried these would be missing something. I used Cherry Republic's blueberry jam and walnuts. The jam is a little chunky (it has cherries too) so I broke up the big chunks after adding the lemon juice. These turned out delicious! I pawned the rest of the batch off on coworkers, who raved about them. I'll be trying the apricot & hazelnut version next.
